I need a new chair

Herman Miller Aeron Chairs
Does anyone have any recommendations for a desk chair? I’m 6 ft. 4 in. / 200 lbs. so I need something that will fit my frame… My current chair’s seat cushion is worn out and I’m ready for an upgrade.

Any suggestions, recommendations, thoughts, etc.?

  1. Two words: Yoga Ball.

Seriously, it saves the back, neck, etc., and it’s cheap. It’s the only thing my neurologist and physical therapist want me to sit on when at a computer. I thought it was weird at first, but it’s becoming way more common.

I realize this wasn’t the kind of advice you were looking for probably, but just throwing it out there anyway…

  2. Those chairs in that picture you posted are Herman Miller Aeron chairs. I used one for four years at my old job, and not a day goes by that I fondly look back and remember how awesome those chairs were. They’re on the expensive side, but I can vouch for them being fantastic. The material is also a sort of mesh, so there’s nothing to get worn out over time.

  3. Hmmm. A yoga ball. I hadn’t thought about a non-chair alternative…

I used to have a job in college where I had access to a Herman Miller Aeron. They are uber comfortable but extremely expensive. I think I also need something with a higher back…
