Sam’s Station

Sam’s Station owners, managers, and staff, please read the following – “The Nordstrom Way to Customer Service Excellence: A Handbook For Implementing Great Service in Your Organization.

I love the #3 — Spinach, Tomato, and Parmesan Cheese Omelet. It is one of my favorite breakfast dishes. However, something has to be done about the appalling lack of customer service at Sam’s Station. Consistently poor customer service will drive customers away. If only Sam’s Station did not have a chokehold on the Corvallis omelet market…

Are there any other places in Corvallis, Oregon that can make an omelet with spinach, tomato, and parmesan cheese? All I’m asking for is a little bit of attention, a few coffee refills, maybe some water, etc.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and sometimes I want an omelet on Saturdays…

Addictive Games

If you are addicted to the internet, please read no further…

The following games are extremely addictive. As a public service announcement, I am informing my readers that Red and Desktop Tower Defense will erode your productivity faster than an Oregon downpour.

UPDATE: Desktop Tower Defense has been updated. It’s even more addictive now! via Kottke

Random Post 3/23/07

The blogosphere is pulsating with ferocity this morning. I have about 50 potential posts floating around in the soup that makes up my consciousness…

Random Item number 1: This isn’t a link but I really want to post that I am super excited, happy, giddy, etc. that this Sunday, the 25th of March will be the 2 year anniversary for me and Wendy!

Random Item number 2: I just signed up to be the host for the Erase Racism Carnival in November of 2007. I am very excited, nervous, and exuberant about this opportunity.

Random Item number 3: I have cable creep that resembles the vine-laden jungles of Costa Rica. Fortunately, Macinstruct has a great tutorial on managing cable creep.

Grandma Katie

Eric and Grandma Katie

My phone rang this morning at 8 A.M. The ring tone was the “circus” music that I have reserved for my parents. My grandmother died this morning. She was 82. According to my mom, Grandma Katie died peacefully.

A memorial service has been planned for April 21st. My mom asked me if I wanted to say anything at the service. I’ve been thinking about what I would say at my grandma’s funeral for a week or so. Her health had been failing due to complications after a stroke and we all knew that she would not live for much longer.

I feel a certain amount of responsibility to say something insightful at the service. My brother, Shaun, posted on his blog that he will miss the cookies and milk that used to always be available at grandma’s house. Homemade chocolate chip cookies were always in a Tupperware container on top of the refrigerator. Standard operating procedure at grandma’s house was to enter the house, say hello, hug, and then get cookies, pour milk into the little plastic blue cups that were perfect for dunking, and then eat scrumptious cookies while sitting at the kitchen table.

Grandma Katie introduced me to my first soap opera. General Hospital was a mainstay in the afternoon. She would ride her bike to the mailbox and place the mail in the basket at the front of her bike.

Send Me a Voice Message

Send Me A Message

E-mail, voicemail, instant messaging, and postal mail are just a few of the ways that I can be contacted. Next week I plan on implementing a solar-powered carrier pigeon system…

Recently, I came across the ODEO “Send a message” service which allows blog visitors to record an audio voice message that is then emailed to the blogger.

My contributions to the SDN will likely include information on search engine optimization, blogging, WordPress, web analytics, etc.

A story in six words

vegankid just tagged me! Okay, here is my story in six words:

High context. Six words, not enough.

That’s my story. It sums me up…I need at least seven or eight words to tell a story :-)

I guess I’ll have to pass on the “story in six words” meme — Brownfemipower, Paul, Faris, Kevin, Sean, and Kai.
