@Britt - It is difficult to be so disconnected from everything that is happening in my hometown.

The major news services in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo - Cedar Falls, Muscatine, Burlington, etc. have done a pretty good job of putting out news stories about Columbus Junction, but they have plenty of newsworthy events occurring in their own cities so I am sure it's been difficult for them to cover everything that's been going on.

it must be difficult for you to watch this unfold from far away. earlier in the year my hometown, where my mother lives, flooded and i felt very helpless and guilty to not be there. it's just surreal to see a town submerged under water. i'll keep iowa in my thoughts.
