I like the idea of calling most universities Historically White Colleges and Universities, a term suggested by UIUC's David Roediger. The term gives the lie to white resentment against current affirmative action policies for non-whites, which are only a tiny corrective to the ongoing effects of what amounts to centuries of affirmative action for whites.
