    I’m really curious about two parts of the letter:

    1) What’s with you not being eligible for overtime? How does an academic advisor position become exempt? On its face, this makes no sense….

    2) What’s with the all-your-technology-belong-to-us clause? I assume it’s boilerplate, but I wonder how widespread that clause is.

  2. @ Dennis — Academic Advisor’s at OSU are considered salaried faculty. I could work 40 hours or 65 hours per week and receive the same pay.

    I think the technology verbiage is standard on most OSU offers. Great questions! I laughed a little bit when I read the technology clause. I was rather bummed since I had planned on inventing a fusion reactor while at my new job ;-)
