Hey Dennis – My pleasure! bell hooks was really cool. She signed my copy of Teaching Community
Wendy got me an iPod and I recently bought a mic for it. The quality of my new “rig” is much better. I can’t wait to see how well it records in a large venue.

Eric,
That’s great you went to see bell hooks. I recently finished her book, Femenism is for Everybody. She’s a great writer, and one of the most insightful women I’ve never met (sad to miss her). Is she as humble as she seems?

“Feminism is for Everybody” — sorry, I had to fix the spelling
I would highly recommend “Teaching Community.” It’s a great read!
I would say that bell hooks is a very loud voice for social justice activism. I’ve listened to the audio from her talk several times.

[...] Move aside bell hooks. Move over Sarah Jones. Move over Vandana Shiva. Miss Venezuela is right. The time for diversity talk and progress is over. Stop reading those niche blogs. Let dudes do what they do. Except the part about how one in every three women in this country will experience some form of sexual violence or attempted violence (many as children and young girls). I mean the other stuff that dudes do. Like watch football and earn more money for equal work. [...]
