Thanks for posting this! I was very disappointed to miss it.
Hey Dennis - My pleasure! bell hooks was really cool. She signed my copy of Teaching Community
Wendy got me an iPod and I recently bought a mic for it. The quality of my new “rig” is much better. I can’t wait to see how well it records in a large venue.
Eric,
That’s great you went to see bell hooks. I recently finished her book, Femenism is for Everybody. She’s a great writer, and one of the most insightful women I’ve never met (sad to miss her). Is she as humble as she seems?
“Feminism is for Everybody” — sorry, I had to fix the spelling
I would highly recommend “Teaching Community.” It’s a great read!
I would say that bell hooks is a very loud voice for social justice activism. I’ve listened to the audio from her talk several times.
Can anyone help me find the article in which bell hooks is interviewed regarding the movie “Crash” ?? I read it and now I can’t find it. Thanks!!
It looks like allaboutbell.com is no longer on the web. I did find some excerpts from the interview:
Wow, I just found this, thanks for posting it! I’ll listen while I walk my dog today,

The audio isn’t the greatest but I’m glad I could provide you with some audio for your walk
Besides, there aren’t a lot of mp3 recordings of bell on net…
