Safe2Pee is a web directory of gender neutral bathrooms in the United States. Safe2Pee’s ever-expanding directory currently features 543 gender neutral bathrooms in 158 cities. This site is a great resource!

The goal of the project is to create a resource where people who do not feel comfortable with traditional public restrooms can find safe alternatives. The service aims to be accessible from a variety of mediums (computer, cell phone browser, maybe even a call-in number?), and to support advocacy and research on the subject of inclusive bathrooms.

Initially this service will only be available in the US, however we hope to expand and extend our capabilities rapidly. More features and greater customization will be available very soon!

Safe2Pee is a project of the Bathroom Liberation Front.

Is this for real? You betcha! According to the Safe2Pee faq:

Gender variant people face frequent harassment, discrimination and violence in public restrooms. This site offers a community-driven resource to allow people to locate safe bathrooms within their communities. Gender neutral and single stall bathrooms can benefit others as well: parents with children, those with access or mobility needs and those who desire extra privacy are a few who may benefit.

  1. I love this site! I added the Pride Center and Interzone’s restrooms (Corvallis) awhile ago, but I stopped adding because it’s time consuming.

  3. thanks for the write up! we just added support for canadian locations today, so hopefully that will get a good response and encourage the project to grow even more! We’re also working on a zine to be distributed at several upcoming events and some materials for bathroom action.
