So, I've been attending various search committee open forums for candidates who will be working closely with our offices… I was getting tired of people asking generic questions such as: How do you define diversity? What role does diversity play in your life/work? How do you embrace diversity? Etc… The responses always seem to be the same… I then remembered a statement from Angela Davis that you posted on your blog… "Diversity is difference that doesn't make a difference." I thought that was a very powerful statement, so now I've been asking candidates to respond to that statement with regards to diversity in higher ed. So far, some struggled to grasp the meaning of it and some totally get it and respond to it in a very articulate manner. It has been quite interesting hearing how people respond to that statement.

Anyways, I just wanted to let you know how useful and powerful of a tool your blog isJ
