Pride Panel and Coming Out

I co-facilitated my first pride panel today. It was very exciting. CM asked me to facilitate yesterday. I was very honored. There were over 50 people in the classrom. I think I had butterflys in all of my extremities. Thankfully the panelists knew what they were doing. I am grateful for the experience.
I briefly […]

Once again, oppressions are all bad. Classism, racism, sexism, ableism are all oppressions. A new book by a University of Illinois at Chicago scholar: “The Trouble With Diversity: How We Learned to Love Identity and Ignore Inequality” attempts to place classism as the worst of the worst oppressions.
It makes me nervous when a white […]

The The Heterosexual Agenda: Exposing The Myths

No longer satisfied with “mere acceptance” by our society, heterosexual political pressure groups have launched a well-planned, well-financed campaign, which, if left unchecked, threatens to destroy the most fundamental structures of American society. This report considers the implications of the heterosexual agenda (both overt and hidden), the problems […]

Google (Music) Videos

Google announced today that they are going to provide music videos on Google Video. I may have Comcast stone-tablet-basic-edition but I can now watch music videos.
I quickly watched/listened to John Mayer’s “Waiting On The World To Change.”

John Mayer - Waiting On The World To Change
me and all my friends
we’re all misunderstood
they say we […]

Blogfolio at the NASPA Western Regional

JW and I will be presenting “Blogs and Student Learning: Making Meaning and Connections through Graduate Student Portfolios” at the 2006 NASPA Western Regional Conference in San Francisco next month. We’ll be using my “blogfolio” as an example of how blogs can be used in higher education graduate programs to facilitate learning in multiple […]

Day of Indigenous Resistance

Columbus Day is a federal holiday that I will no longer celebrate.
I used to celebrate Columbus Day. It was sort of a mandatory holiday. I grew up in a small town in Iowa called Columbus Junction. Located near the confluence of the Iowa and Cedar Rivers, the residents of Columbus Junction celebrate Columbus […]
