How, Mitakuye-api. For over one hundred and eighteen years, the United States government has kept the massacre of Wounded Knee in their thoughts, but we do not know if they even care about the Native Nations of Turtle Island. Before the siege at Wounded Knee, many an Indian was killed by white people for no apparent reason than to rid the Indian of his ways and if neccesary, his life. This was our time of great sorrow, until AIM stepped in and took action. We have tried to talk to the wasicu, but they don't hear. They are deaf! We would've all died had AIM not rebelled against the federal government. Pilamaya pi-yelo, Leonard Crow Dog, Russell Means, Dennis Banks, Frank Clear Water (RIP), Lawrence Lamont (RIP) and Leonard Peltier. And thank you for helping our Indian Nation when we needed you most, and thank you for helping the wasicu see that it is time to put bury the war ax and put the rifle down. Although, like I said they don't listen, and are at war with other people again. Thanks for everything, though.... Mary Brave Woman. Mitakuye Oyasin. Toksha.

Dear Mary, I not a full booled Indian but I have lived with Indiginous people in Central & South America and the US, that is where my heart is. Peltier said the only sin an Indian has made is being an Indian, my sin is being a White Man. I feel I am more Indian then a lot of full bloods I know. I live the old ways and I love your people. Yes you are right, they say this is the land of the free, but I wonder when their going to live up to that statement. I am 69 years of age and the abuse, suffering and oppression torward the Indian people has been going on as long as I can remember, and before I was born. I have many friends on Porcupine and some on Pine Ridge. I do all I can to help the people with clothing, shoses, and money. I have heard about your family and I've always wanted to meet your Father. It would be an honor to meet your family. I have run with the name Wolf (Shung Mata Tunks), since I was a boy. I will be going up to Purcupine soon with a load of clothes and other things the people need. I also have a great concern about something I feel is hurting your people and I must do something about it. Since I don't know who all will be reading this e-mail I would like to decuss this in person. I hate the white man and how they oppress your people and I don't care if the govenment knows it, I have no fear of these people (FBI, Marshals are any of their other organation). It would be a great honor to revieve an e-mail from you, and a great honor to meet your famly. Please send me an e-mail, I would like to be a loyal friend.

Best Regards, Dan Wolf

I had heard about AIM but not really paid attention, I had not really listened. Mary you opened my eyes. You shouldn't just read this book for an emotional thrill but to see the struggles of the people. Is still going on through in our day. All the broken promises of the white government laws. No one really knows except the Native nations and their people what really fighting for freedom has cost them. Isn't this supposed to be the land of the free? Home of the brave? Our government what a joke.
